Vivian Chen

As a Managing Director at Grayling, Vivian Chen brings with her over thirteen years of investment banking, capital markets and investor relations experience. Ms. Chen utilizes her extensive corporate finance, capital raising and marketing skills to build highly impactful strategic communications programs for her clients across various global industry verticals centered around emerging markets including China.

Vivian transitioned into investor relations after having worked nearly eight years at Citigroup’s Global Consumer and Health Care investment banking group serving dual marketing and corporate finance roles at the vice president level. She successfully raised over $14 billion in gross proceeds for companies across the equity, fixed income and mergers and acquisitions platforms.

Vivian holds a Master in Business Administration from Washington University with an emphasis in finance and accounting and a B.S. degree from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in management and marketing.

Peter Chun

Founder and Managing Director of Silverbear Capital in China. Known in global financial circles as The Architect, Peter Chun brings nearly 20 years of International finance expertise to Silverbear. Specializing in corporate restructuring, corporate finance, and M&A, Peter has worked with and represented companies of all sizes and configurations.  He also brings listing experience in Korea, Toronto, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, and in the US, as well as experience in the private equity/ pre-IPO arena. Mr. Chun is a graduate of Yale University.

John McCamant has spent twenty five years on the front lines of biotechnology investing. As an equities analyst for the American Healthcare Fund, he uncovered investment opportunities and guided investment strategy.

At Burrill & Company, a San Francisco-based private merchant bank, he was a lead in raising $75 million for a venture capital fund. Mr. McCamant has established an extensive network that includes contacts throughout the investment banking and venture capital communities.

His expertise in biotechnology investments is a subject of media interest. He is frequently consulted and quoted by The Washington Post, Business Week, Reuters, Bloomberg, CBS Marketwatch.

Dr. Yacov Shamash

Dr. Shamash is Vice President for Economic Development and Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Stony Brook University. As Vice President, a position he has held since 2000, Dr. Shamash supervises the University’s three incubators, two New York State Centers for Advanced Technology, the NYS Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT), the Small Business Development Center, and the workforce development programs of the Center for Emerging Technologies. The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences has over 1,500 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. In 1994 he led the effort by SUNY’s engineering schools to create the highly successful state-wide SPIR program (Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence). During the past ten years, working through the SPIR program, the College has partnered with more than 220 companies to assist them with more than 1,150 projects.

Dr. Shamash is a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Software & Technology Network (LISTnet) and the Long Island Forum for Technology (LIFT). He serves on the boards of Keytronic, American Medical Alert, Netsmart Technologies, and Invision.com. Prior to joining Stony Brook, Dr. Shamash served as Director of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Washington State University and was responsible for the establishment of a National Science Foundation Industry/University Center for the Design of Analog/Digital Integrated Circuits. He has held faculty positions at Florida Atlantic University, the University of Pennsylvania and Tel Aviv University. A Fellow of the IEEE, he received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, England, and has authored more than 130 publications.

Joseph R. Simonetta

Joseph R. Simonetta holds a master of architecture degree from the University of Colorado. He also studied architecture at the University of Southern California. He holds a master of divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School, and he also studied at Yale Divinity School. He holds a B.S. in business logistics from Penn State University.

Born in a World War II housing project in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he is the second of three sons of an immigrant blue-collar steelworker and his wife. He was raised in the shadows of the blast furnaces of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He has since lived for significant amounts of time in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, Greece, New Zealand, and Ecuador.

His rich life experiences encompass many fields. He has been an Army officer, a professional athlete, an entrepreneur and businessman, an architect, a real estate developer and custom home builder, an environmental activist, an author and senior editor of the World Business Academy, twice a nominee for the U.S. Congress, and once a nominee for the U.S. presidency. His last book, ONE, For the Third Millennium, is based on his lecture series, “Astonish the World, Tell the Simple Truth.”

Don Steinbrugge

Don Steinbrugge’s achievements over his 30 year career in institutional investment management sales include serving as the head of sales for one of the world’s largest hedge funds and institutional investment management firms. Don was a founding principal of Andor Capital Management, which was formed when he and a number of his associates spun out of Pequot Capital Management. At Andor he was Head of Sales, Marketing, and Client Service and was a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. When he left Andor, the firm was ranked by assets under management as the 2nd largest hedge fund firm in a survey by Absolute Return Magazine. Prior to his stint at Pequot, Don was a Managing Director and Head of Institutional Sales for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, which at the time was one of the largest investment managers in the world ranked by assets under management. Don was also Global Head of Institutional Sales and member of the executive committee for NationsBank Investment Management (now Bank of America Capital Management).

Don is a member of the Investment Committee for The City of Richmond Retirement System, a member of the Board of Directors for the Hedge Fund Association and a member of the Board of Directors of Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. In addition he is a former 2 term Board of Directors member the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business, The Science Museum of Virginia Endowment Fund, The Richmond Ballet (The State Ballet of Virginia) and the Richmond Sports Backers.
